Not a recording but a movie spot. I was watching Hanna and Her Sisters last night with my wife there is a sceane in a club and one of the guitarists is playing what I think is an Avenger, probably an AV330.

Wasn't me.

Yes, I play a shallow-body, single cutaway Vantage acoustic. Yes, I play drums as well. I even own pretty much every instrument in this video. It still ain't me.

Video is work-safe, can't promise that the whole site (adverts, content) is. You have been warned.

How does he get into that rig anyway?
More important, how does he um, you know...feed the porcelain pony?

I especially liked the wolf-whistle he does every time a cute Mommy or Nanny walks by in the plaza.

je [currently mixing the song, "Drug Crazed Mutant (Eating His Own Brains)" by the fabulous Wig Outs, a recording which features the blue-mirror-pickguard Vantage Avenger I used to own]

Check it out- not the best guitar tone ever, but it's what the player wanted so it's what he got. Vantage Avenger AV315, single coil in the lead (Fat Strat or 1/4 Pounder or similar) and Duncan 'bucker in the rhythm, both pickups on. Most likely a Peavey head into a JBL 15". Fun tune, really fun band (generally surf-punk, think The Cramps meet Screamin' Jay Hawkins).

The fabulous Wig Outs, performing Drug Crazed Mutant (Eating His Own Brains), recorded on cassette 4-track in my basement on Labor Day, 1987. Written by Tony Asaro, performed by Kevin Compton/Bob Jones/Jim Scheiner, copyright 1986:

Enjoy.

Greetings, I've been away from the boards for a while. hope all is well in Mat land. I guess this is a good place to post some of my recordings, All my recordings are very rough and my poor playing shows, I guess I should spend more time on them but I'm lazy and just post whatever comes out when i Hit the record button. All drum tracks are done with my Alesis SR-16 or fruity loops for the cover songs. As far as i remember most of these are done with my Thunder 1-T and Spectrum ST bass. or whatever mat was close enough to the computer that day. Don't laugh too hard I do not have the talent most of you do. also I know myspace is lame but it seems to be the best place to post tunes.

Cheers!

Great stuff Cmin... I wish I was set up to record.. will get there... I think its the best way to improve ourselves... I have several recordings of my main band on video tape and all I can say is it sounded better while we were playing.... the beer drinking did not help...

Rock on!

Squid - that's an odd song!! A little 'Iggy meets the Replacements meets Lou Reed' perhaps?! :D Nice dirty tone on the guitar, though....

Cmin; very atmospheric indeed - and do not be apologizing for anything here; at least you've posted something!! :) I would, but I have no Matts with me....
