StewMac seems to have a part or a tool for just about everything under guitar heaven!
This zero fret looks very interesting.

My only question is whether bone is redundant here, since it's acting as a string guide rather than a nut. Plastic would serve just as well and be a lot cheaper methinks.

Has anyone had any experience with this aftermarket part? Inquiring minds want to know! :freaksmile2:

Looks interesting! Shave the front of a nut and jam a barb less fret in the gap.

Bone is still probably better than plastic to reduce lateral friction. The same kind of lateral friction that plagues Greedson nuts.

There is a reason Brian May chose to use a zero fret on his Red Special. Practically eliminates downward string binding.

I've been wanting to try one of these on my next build. As with everything "StewMac" they are a bit pricey.
I haven't seen the wood version until just now. I'm thinking it might look better in some applications.
And hey, what's another $2.28... :loon:
