I turned my ad blockers off this morning when I started my day. I finally had to turn them back on. I'd had enough ad bombardment. I made sure to visit popular sites such as talkbass, the squier forums and les paul forums among others. On one page I counted 16 ads and a few were so animated I almost went into a seizure.

This only solidifies my position that this site will never be ad supported. I had considered it once but a quick test run told me these ad servers want to dominate the page and the content is only secondary. Some even broke the format altogether. When an ad for lacy panties popped up here that cinched it. NO ADS! NO WAY! NO HOW! What's next? Condoms?

Ads are a necessary evil for most things, I guess, but they can be bloody intrusive, and as you say, distracting to the point of rendering the content almost impossible to find!

I run a couple of blockers and they work well but now YouTube is throwing a block of its own in my face on some channels (the ones that have large viewership) and will not allow me to continue until I turn my blockers off!
Really annoying since I then turn them on again afterwards. ARRRGGGH!
