Hello,
I hope this is the right board!! - Nowhere specific!
I've just bought a Fender Strat design Matsumoku. It was, I am told with a sunburst design around 1968
It was stripped to it's wood - now a beautiful natural Ash finish with 2 new P90 pick ups
Nothing else was touched
She feels fantastic, plays beautifully and incredibly well made
Now I was wondering / hoping some kind person out there could tell me more
The neck plate has MATSUMOKU
A790050
Made in Japan
Is she that old - I have a 2005 Custom shop strat 2005 and this is as well made and maybe even better!

Welcome to the board. We like pictures here and they may help be more specific than I can. To the best of my knowledge Matsumoku did not put there name on the neck plates in the 60's and early 70's. They did in the on some in late 70's through there closing in 87. Thus yours could be a 77 or an 87 with the odds being 77.

Yep; like the man said, pictures make life SO much easier so if you're able, that'd be great!! Does your guitar have anything on the headstock? Does it look anything like these...
