We´ve been over this before with acoustics and amplification.

Well,just recently i picked up a wireless.
An AKG unit, and pluggin the Martin of mine that way certainly helped a TON in the feedback dpt.

Point in case being that right now we´re doin a cover of Nicklebacks "Rockstar" which basicaly takes at least one guitar being a dreadnought.
Any others out there runnin this way?

Sure seems that it leaves the need for some sort of feedback buster out.?

Is that the condenser type mic? Nope, never used one.
I have an inexpensive Artec soundhole humbucker pup which works great in my Vantage VW150 and El Degas Dove. However, the '83 Ovation's D string goes ballistic when plugged in and is unusable without a FeedBack Buster. The Ovation Elite with it's "machine gun sound holes" is perfect. :D

I installed a contact B-Band setup in the Martin, and sure enough it will feedback...
Point in case being that as i go wireless i can move away a reasonable distance from the amp and cab which makes for a world of difference.

The old wireless systems really sucked, but the newer ones seems to deliver what they promise and what´s more they´re not an arm and a leg any more.
In short, usable as well as affordable.

Well.... (clears throat) ... when I stopped playing out, I was using a Boss AC3 on my VA900 with results that made people stop and look to see what I was playing... in a good way!! (waits for things to be thrown at him by the purists...!) :D

acoustic guitar + amp for electrics = feedback

why don't you play your Martin through the PA-system ? Less feedback, less "ampcoloured" sound!

I've never used a wireless setup, but there were many, many times when I looked at the mess of wires around me and swore that it was time to go wireless. When everything has a cable attached it's just more aggravation in packing up at the end of the night.

We once had a crazy little bass player who went wireless on an outdoor gig...at a nudist camp, at night!!
(Therein lies a story for another day :D )
It was a bit disconcerting at the beginning, with the bass sound coming out of the amp, but nobody on stage playing it. He was out amongst the dancers waving his big Fender P bass all over the place!
He had a very large smile on his face when he eventually returned. :hyper:

Generally speaking that's true, but back in the day we didn't have specialized acoustic amplifiers, and often there was no extra capacity for a dedicated channel on the small PA's that we typically we using.

I used my Ovation through my Roland Cube 100 with good results, as long as I had the Feedback Buster on! But you're right, it does sound way better through a PA, and that's generally how I play it and the other acoustics today.
