I have a vantage guitar accoustic model VW175 Serial no 82010088.i bought it around 1980 and would like to know more about it as i have search the net and can not find any info on that model number.It was made in japan and is reddish mahogany colour and the sound is sweet as...any info would be much appreiated..kymbo

Hello kymbo, welcome!
We believe the VW range to be the first acoustics made by Vantage. Around 1979/1980.
Still not sure how to date these guitars exactly. There should be a stamped number on the first upper bracing, like this one:

The first two digits might be the year of production.
Could you post some pics?

What I suspect most of us do in here is upload our pix to an online photo host - Photobucket, Imageshack etc. - and then c+p the .img links into our posts here. It is quite easy to do - hey, I can do it!! - so let's have a look at this guitar, man!! :D
