I couldn't see an appropriate thread to use, so I thought I'd create a new one for those of us who have music or performances featuring [gasp!] non-Mats guitars. Yes, Virginia, there are such things. If this is in the wrong place, please move it to where it should be.

Long story short, I finally managed to transfer that oft mentioned old VHS live performance tape to disc. The original quality was not great and of course it degraded when I made the dub of it 24 years ago [gasp again!]. You can read a bit more about it on my web site, and of course, watch the small clip I excised and worked on a bit. Hope you enjoy:

Young Barry covering John Fogerty! Well done - love it, both the song and the interpretation!
Wives in the band? Doesn't work, believe me! (Mrs mozart was singing background vocals in my band for a couple of months 8-) ). It's better to have them in the front row to pay homage to their heroes! :D
Mine was weaponed with these "Throw off sparks things" (don't know the english term) at the following video sequence:

2008 performance of "Marlene", a song I've written in 2005 about my youngest daughter.
The Band is called "The Other Kind", I'm stage left, playin' slide on a (non-mat  ) Dean resonator guitar.
Hope you like it in spite of the poor video quality!

Thanks Johann.
Yeah, the husband-wife thing was OK but they weren't long in the band. They moved away and last I heard were making babies and country music!
I never had a wife in the band, but I did have a *ahem* relationship with the large breasted keyboard player in our last big band. That did cause some distraction and friction I must say. Everyone was happier when we broke up.

We call them "sparklers" over here.

:D Good stuff. I Like the tunes. Played "The Old Man Down the Road" 5 nights a week for about a year or so, "back in the day".
Old videos, what fun ! :)

Thanks Scott.
Yeah, it's a mixed blessing seeing yerself as a younger man. I still feel that way inside my head, but then the mirror reveals the ugly truth! :P

Excellent! Thanks for sharing!

Thank your drummer, too, 'cause now I won't feel odd posting videos of me wearing wigs on stage... :D

Great stuff- do you have a clearer audio recording of that tune?
