I dropped off my newly purchased 1983 SB-R60 BNG with my guitar tech a few weeks ago. He's been slammed so he had his assistant check to see if the bridge was brass or painted gold (he thought it was painted gold). I was ready to have it cerakoted but when I picked it up it turned out to be brass. =/

Now I'm trying to find an 80s die cast bridge plate and so far I've only seen one online. Unfortunately it was listed 3 years ago and the seller can't seem to find it. Anyone have any ideas on where I can find one?

Not too sure that bridge is brass. Looks to be gold plated cast. If you look at the top of the saddles you can see where the gold plating has chipped off.

Holy Mother of Matsumoku, that's one 95% expensive piece of metal!

At over CAD$500 w/shipping I can buy a whole instrument for that.
Sheesh!

The only thing worse than these idiots asking these prices are the idiots that will pay it. :toopid:

At that price I'd leave the bridge that's on it there if it works and just call it a day.

The current SB re-issues use a Gotoh 404BO-4 bridge, that looks a bit different from what is on the old SBs.

The previous SB re-issue used a Gotoh J510BO-4 bridge and that should fit better looks wise.

However, both bridges are shorter than the old bridge on the SB, so the change would be visible.
