Hi, it's while since I was here now... I hope you're all right.
After being an SB, RSB and Laser-bass user for... many years, and more than 10 AP-basses, I have just got my first dead pickup. I just bought an RSB Deluxe-5 and the bridge pickup is dead. So, how to find a replacement? I could always search in the hay stack for the needle... or I can check with Kent Armstrong to build me a new one. But I'm not really satisfied with this. Yes, in the end I will probably go for a replacement, but I would like to know what I am doing. My simple question is: What is the difference between MB-IE, MB-II, MB-III and MB-IV ? I know the MB-IE and MB-II are filled up with epoxi... I'm just too aware about this :( And I know the MB-IIIand MB-IV got visible pole pieces and that they are not filled up with stupid epoxi ;)
But except of this... the things you cannot read in the catalog or getting from watching pictures I know nothing about.
So, is there anyone that have investigated about the pickups? What are the differences? Magnets? DC resistance? 2 or 4 wire cables and so on?

Thank you. I have been on the site before but forgot the name. I remember their option of a Jazz-like pu.
Still, I would like to know the differences between anything from the MB-I to MB-V...

I have what I believe is an MBIII in my RSB deluxe. What would you like to know about it, ohms, magnet type, number of leads?

I am away from it till Wednesday. I also have an unknown MB pup here. If it is stamped on the bottom, I can check its specks.

When you got the time it would be great.
I got a variety of Aria basses as well and will measure them to see if there are variations between the different MB-I and so on...
