That's some hellacious work!!!

Sounds like I've got a LOT of updating to do! I'll probably completely rewrite the serial number page with what schemes were for what years.

I can probably go through the thread but if you can give me the schemes and dates they apply I'll add that right away and DEFINITELY give you HUGE nod there for all the hard work you've put into it. Up until now no one had tackled head on like this. Again, fantastic work!

My PE-150 has no serial either. I may have been on a sticker that is long since gone. I also had an LC-500 that had no serial.

Our Trevor does good work, eh!!

Oh, I've checked them out many times. All I can say is

darn I wish I could still play.

I feel your pain, brother! The RA is making it REAL difficult. I think it's "herd thinning" time.

Thanks Vic, man you've got some SB's, great stuff.

You've got some really good numbers there, let me explain.
Firstly 101007, So far with my serial numbers it appears that non Bat ear SB series production started in January 1981.
I have Zero Non Bat ear SB's before then.
My last Bat ear SB's are November 1980, nothing at all either way for December 1980.
We can assume production in 1981 across the whole factory began with 101000 or 101001.
I give those 2 numbers because logically one would assume 000 to be the first number, however I am yet to find a 000 serial at the beginning of any month.
I do however have several 001's which could point to a 1 being used as the first number.
Anyhow, enough rambling.
In my list I also have 101003 (another SB), 101004 (a 3 a side Thor Sound) & then yours 101007, then 101013 (another SB),
So Basically 101007 could be one of the first 6 Non Bat ear SB's ever made, down to the second one ever made depending on what slots in to the missing spots.

Ok, now lets move on to 109047
1st of October was the change over date to 7 digits in the serial numbers.
109047 is the last 6 digit serial number I have at this stage before the change.
It looks like September was possibly a slow month that year as I have very few serials from it.

009030 the set neck SB600 sits quite well to, as I have another one from the month before #008097.

Your a legend.
The big ones for me were 012008, 012029, & 012037.
They allow me to now include December 1980 as the last month for Bat Ear production, which only a few posts back I stated was empty on my list.
With reference to the last pics,Yes the change from month first to year first was December 1979, with November & Back being month first, I think its back on page 4 of this thread or there abouts
