Hey Trevor, I don't know if you still need more serial numbers, but you're probably getting together a pretty good database! I just got back my PE 1000 or maybe PE 1500 (I really don't know how to tell the difference) from my nephew. It's S/N is 078017. July 1978, perhaps?

Hi Willbo, yes July 78 is correct.
I am always be looking for new numbers & will probably keep building this database for as long as I am able.
The information they point to is invaluable.
For example Batch sizes, I have clusters forming on my spreadsheet for particular models at particular times.
I find this stuff really, really interesting, it points to such things as times of peak production etc, etc.
Combining the serial number info with the Catalogues, imo, gives a pretty clear picture.
Super useful for dispelling a lot of the mis-information regarding the when & where of particular models.
Cheers Mate.

Aria Pro II TS-400 (Tri-Sound/Thor) with Serial No. 1111720, which I think makes it 1981.

I also have a 12-string sister guitar I bought same time and place. Right now I am living retired in Philippines. The 12-string is back in USA.
On the label:

Hi all, New member Mike here in Colorado, mostly joined to learn more information about an Aria III A-1C that I have. Mine is serial number 707005, one number off of yours. What else do you or anyone know about these guitars? Matsumoku or ? Thanks in advance, Mike

[*]Trevor,

I have an NK-700 serial number 089007 and I can also tell you I bought it from new many many years ago for £299.00 from Hodges and Johnson Musical instruments (Ashford, Kent), including the Case and they threw in a free set of strings and a White leather strap. I have all except the strings.

Any chance you can decode the serial number, and give me a clue of the value ?
