As a player, I vote for finishing it!! Guitars were meant to be played, eh, not just looked at!

As a curiosity, however, I vote for finishing it!! It's really only of interest to techno-nerds like us!!

YMMV...

I would definitely put that thing together with some good quality hardware and pickups. I doubt it has any significant value, but would definitely have value as a guitar that you can actually play. I'm not interested in guitars as collector pieces or wall art. The only reason I own guitars is to play.

I have to disagree with that statement Zeegler, It already has significant value to one person, Me.
As far as the monetary value goes I honestly couldn't give a Rats.
People have been telling me for years my Mats are worthless anyway so what's one more.
Unlike yourself I am interested in much more than owning guitars only to play, especially my Mats.
I really enjoy the History of all of my instruments, perhaps that is why all my Gear is Vintage.
I love admiring the craftsmanship used in their construction, the timbers, the body styling etc.
All reminiscent of a bygone time.
Heck, I can sit for hours fiddling with & looking at some of my Mats.
I get huge satisfaction from restoring them, I really do.
Talking to other players & collectors, such as the Folks around here, gives me enjoyment also.
So for me anyway, collecting & playing is quite a wonderful & fulfilling hobby, much more than only owning guitars to play.
Cheers.
Trev.

Actually, you're not disagreeing with me at all. I was referring to monetary value, which is as meaningless to me as it apparently is to you. I guess the only difference is that you are able to enjoy it for what it is. I simply could not own something like that without having to know how it sounded, and played. I can also very much appreciate the craftsmanship and art that goes into an instrument. Heck, I build guitars myself, so I have that perspective. As I said though, having a guitar and not playing it is akin to having a nice piece of steak and not eating it, or having a beautiful woman and not... well, you get the point.
