Hey. I just joined this forum. I have been reading the posts on serial numbers - thanks Trevor. Fantastic work.

I haven't had a lot to do with electic guitars but in recent times I have added a couple to the collection. I now have three - an old semi I have been carrying around for years and an Ibanez lower end full body archetop. The third one is a Pro ll PE-175 (1985 model) Herb Ellis recently sourced from Japan. It is an awesome instrument with an absolute killer sound. It booms every where. The quality is very obvious in materials, look and sound.

The question I have relates to the headstock - it has the newer shape headstock with Aria Pro II across the top, but there is no Aria emblem in the middle.

Haven't worked out how to add an image yet so have added an image as an attachment.

I have been checking images of Aria's and haven't noticed any with missing emblems. I wondered if maybe it was omitted on items for the domestic Japanese market or maybe transitioning out of this model which I think occured circa 1985/1986??

Has anyone seen this before and is there an explantion?

Thanks.
