Sure, as it says on the Headstock its an "The Cat" series Bass.
Built in 1987.
I have some experience with this model, I had that exact Bass in Black. 87 model also.
In my opinion it was Korean Build.
Not a bad Bass though, I remember I really liked the neck profile.
My rule of thumb with 86/87 models is, if the neck plate does not state Made in Japan, it isn't.
Cheers,
Trevor.

aww i was hoping it was made in japan. i got the bass for 200 australian dollars. surprisingly, this one is in excellent condition. but im not sure if its worth 200. i am loving the neck though. also, i think the pickups are active.

is it for sure korean? the owner i bought it from is an old japanese bassist. hes around early 50 yrs old. he said that one basically stayed in the closet.

Yep, mine was active too.
Definitely not built by Matsumoku, at that time production was moved to Korea.
Well worth $200 bucks imo.
