Hi, I have what I think is an early SB-1000 fretless without the LED. Please can you guys confirm my assumption and add any other info to my thoughts.

Hi and welcome.....

Yep, looks right on the button to me. Bat-ears at the top? :loon:
There are some catalog scans etc on the site for relevant info.

Can't recall ever seeing a fretless one pre-81.
Congrats, nice bass

The only info I can add is.....is she for sale?

Hi, thanks. I took a closer look today and even though it does not have the LED it is an active bass with 2 x 9V batteries in the rear cavity.

Yes, I will be selling it.

Good luck with the sale.
If you are in the UK i would be interested, the going rate for one of those would be about £100... ...honest

WOW and I thought it was only worth about £50-£75... :loon:

I had a Rick bass which required a little info so I joined the appropriate Forum where a member informed me 'you will only get £500 to £700'...of course he offered me the £500...I later sold it for £1100.

I'm glad to see you picked up on my tongue in cheek valuation, as far as an accurate valuation goes it is difficult to say...
Maybe letting the market decide its value on ebay (other auction sites readily available) would be the way to go?

Can we have some more pics before you let her go though please... :D

SB-600 in Paduak Red, SB-700 in Sen wood (similar to Ash) and SB-1000 also Sen.

From extensive searches it transpires the fretless is a pre factory fire (1981) by virtue it has no LED.
