Hi Guys n Gals......

Just acquired something a little unusual I think.......Aria Pro ii RS special-v with brass scratchplate......serial # starts 209, and I'm guessing from research, and general condition of guitar that she is an '82 model.......neck plate says " Made in Japan", and she has the feel of a guitar from that era. Generally good condition, but spring cover looks to be added recently, and knobs are probably not original (one of the tone knobs reads "volume")

All works as she should, although needing new strings/set-up etc........any comments anyone please???

Welcome Twangette.
Nice Special V but I don't think the scratchplate and knobs are original. I dig the look of them though.

Thanks Jorg.....on closer inspection, I think she has been refinished, so scratchplate may well not be original......but very well done if not original......knobs defo not original, and I wonder what they should be like?

The third pic of yours shows checking very similar to one of my Aria Pro II guitars from the same time.
Most, if not all, of the Special V's I've seen had white scratchplates. I bought a Special V body a few years ago that originally had the white plate with typical "Fender" style knobs. I only bought the body so I didn't get to inspect anything else.
