Hi,
I have an Aria Pro 2 that looks very similar to some of the LC models in the 1979 catalogue. Maybe LC750 or LC550. However the coil tap/split switch is in a different place to the models in the catalogue.
The guitar doesn't have a serial number just a sticker on the back of the headstock says made in Japan. I bought the guitar second-hand in the UK around 1982/1983.
If anyone has any ideas of which model this is i'd be really grateful.
I've linked to some pics.

Control knobs, bridge and tailpiece i have replaced.
Many Thanks.

Welcome Philcratch!
That has what is known as the "transition headstock". You'll see those on 1979 and possibly early 1980 models.
Honestly, I have never seen the tap switch in the position it shows in the catalog so, I wouldn't worry too much about that. As we have learned, specifications were subject to change without notice. . . lol.
The only differences I see in the LC550 and LC750 are the pickups, color and the fretboard. I can't tell if yours is rosewood or ebony. I'm also not sure of the color but I believe its either the violin color or the oak shade.
If that is indeed the oak shade finish, I would think its an LC750. If its the violin color, we'll need to examine the pickups.
Then again, color could be one of those specifications subject to change. . .

Thanks Jorg,
I really can't tell if the fretboard is rosewood or ebony. Is it violin colour or oak shade? Who knows!
Is it possible to determine what pick ups they are? Never had them out the guitar, would they be marked in any way?
Thanks again.

Going by the tuners it looks like it might be an LC750. The LC550 looks like it had tulip tuners.

Honestly, I would figure the tulips would be on the higher model. But, what do I know... lol.
You could send it to me and I could do some extensive research on it. . . :devil2:

Every guitar that I owned with "tulip" tuners was "de-flowered".
