Hi everyone! I'm new here. Thanks for having me. I just purchased this beauty from a seller on reverb. He advertised it as a Aria Pro II LS-800 year 1981. Based on my research from the site, the year seems legit based on the serial #, however wouldn't this be more of a LC model because it is modeled after a Les Paul Custom? rather than the LS - standard? It definitely is a 3 piece neck and maple top, I can see the lines. The pickups were advertised as DiMarzio super distortions, however when I turned them around there was no brand marking or numbers on back plate. I'm not sure if they are true DiMarzio. Anyways, I love it and that is all that matters. Plays so amazing. Weighs in about 9.5 lbs.

here is the photo, thanks for your help identifying this beauty.

Welcome Jocko, VERY nice guitar!
I'm with you, I'd say its an LC rather than LS and I'm thinking its an LC-800 by the top.
Feel free to post more pics... :rockwoot:

Thanks guys! Can someone tell me how to post better quality pics? when I choose to upload more photos it caps me at 81 kb...which is poor resolution. Do I have to use a third party site like Shutterfly or photo bucket?

Thanks!

It sucks but yes.

Beautiful guitar.

DiMarzio Super distortions were used by a few Japanese builders, including Matsumoku I believe, in the mid to late 70's. Mats eventually developed their own version (MMK45) and are found on many APII's, Vantages, Westones and other labels built in the 80's. Timelines are hazy.

The 45's will have a stamp on the back of the pup. I'm not too sure about the DiMarzios but IIRC they may have had a sticker on them. They could also be plain, so you'll have to go by a resistance reading and your ears! Should be in the 11K range.

so the resistance on that neck pickup is 15.52 :hyper: do u think it is an actual DiMarzio? there are no markings so I'm baffled.
