Anybody see a PE500 with a set neck? first three in serial are 079... Not the 2 bolt hybrid? I just ordered it, for 350 plus 55 shipping, no tax, not bad. Has that cool light tobacco sunburst, and a flamey top. The neck is truly set though, never seen that on a PE 500, shouldn't it have the two bolts?

I searched the Aria Pro II forums but couldn't find any info. Tried the catalogs, but still getting used to the new format. I did locate one catalog, that had a pic of the very guitar on the second cover! But then it wasn't listed in the catalog. haha.... weird. Plus the photo didn't reveal neck construction. Any info would help! thanks.

Brian

Set neck. Got some of those specs from the owner of the guitar pictured. The one pictured has the batwing headstock, not sure if that later changed. Not bad at all for that price if it's in good shape.

I think Matsumoku used either set necks or hybrid necks on both PE450 and PE500 models. On your link, it states that the PE450 has a bolt on neck, and I own a PE450 with a set neck.
As always , "specs subject to change without notice". Hahaha. They're still great guitars with set or hybrid necks IMO.

Can you post a pic of the end of the fretboard or tuss cover indicating model along with a pic of the neck joint. A set neck 450 sounds interesting.

My 450 plays like a set neck despite it being "bolt in" (as opposed to Feigndor's bolt on).

Unfortunately, my guitar does not have the sticker at the end of the fretboard and it just has the truss cover with nothing written on it. But it’s a PE450 because it is a arched hollow top I believe unique to that model. Please correct me if I’m wrong. The vol and tone knobs are not original and the previous owner chafed the tuners to pretzels locking tuners.

The PE-450 was bolt neck which yours is not. Yes the PE-450 has an arched hollow top. Your is likely a PE-500. Super guitars. My PE-450 isn't going anywhere. My 450 has the brass knurled knobs but not sure that is stock either.

Mine is hollow and the wood is not sycamore. It’s maple.
So who knows. Hahaha.

It's not a 450. The 450 is bolt neck. The 500 was set neck. You are a better man than I if you can tell cured, stained and laminated maple from sycamore. :D

Whatever it is, it's a great guitar, although on the specs, it specifies the PE450 is arched hollow, and has dot inlays. My guitar is hollow, and has dot inlays. Specs don't say the PE500 is hollow and the PE500 has block inlays. That's why I'm confused. Anyway, great guitars both.
