Found this clean CS at GC. The action was high so I guess it spent it's life as a slide guitar and not used much because it's clean.
The nut was replaced and I think everything else is original. Serial number starts with 81. All I had to do was level a couple frets and lower the nut.
Really a good looking and playing axe.

I have a CS-400, but couldn't see yours because I was asked for a Google login.

Sorry. I think Google changed the access allowed on new albums. I used an old album so it "should" work now.

Works now!

Looks pretty clean. I had a CS-400 and it was a solid guitar but I never warmed up to it. I was expecting it to feel like my CS-350s but it is an entirely different creature. The CS-400 is what an SG should be.

What was GC asking for it? Sometimes they can be reasonable and others rather proud.

$450 + $50 Tax and shipping. They're prices are all over the place for used.
I guess it depends on the store.

Yup on both accounts. Not bad for that model, at least by today's standards.

I also think it depends on the store as well as the lister. I've seen some somewhat reasonable prices but I think some stores have the same person adding items that also lists on eBay and Reverb. Some will "Matsumoku" the junk out of the listing.

Wow, that is nice!
I'm a big fan of the CS models but I've never played a 400.
I'm thinking, since it has a carved top, a 400 will feel a little like a PE as opposed to a regular CS?
That price doesn't surprise me, I'd figure a nice 350 would go for almost that much today.

Thanks guys.
I think the off white pickup rings and bobbins greatly add to it's appearance.
I'd say the neck is like my PE 1500 but the PE is a boat anchor at 10 1/2 lbs.

One thing about GC is they do not pack well. Fortunately this arrived OK although
the box had some damage. The other thing about GC is you only have 3 days to return vintage
gear so people need to either have someone quickly check out a guitar or know enough
to check it and the neck in particular.
