Hi folks!

I just bought a guitar. It appears to be a TA 100 but the series isn't printed on the truss rod cover.

Also.. it's name is slightly different...

ARIA PRO ll Titanic Artist, not Titan artist.

I'm fairly certain it's a genuine aria pro ll.

Anyone got any clues what this guitar is??

The headstock and serial number look convincing, but I haven't owned a TA100. The picture of the front is too small to tell much. It would be interesting to see the back of a pickup and the pickup cavity, and also the label inside. What is that label(?) on the back of the headstock?

Maybe it's been at the bottom of the sea for nearly a hundred years! :)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's a genuine Aria. I'll be removing the pickups etc soon to give a clean. I'll have a look at what's on the back of them then.

Looks like the real deal to moi. :up:
It was not uncommon to see a model name change early on in the marketing of many Japanese guitars, including those made by Uncle Mats.

Initial translation caused misinterpretation and typo's to occur but were usually quickly corrected (eg. in the Vantage line we saw the "Entertainar" model which changed to the "Entertainer".

I suspect "Titanic" was the original model name but conveyed the wrong image given the history of that iconic ship. The correction to "Titan" was what they were originally shooting for methinks.

In some cases identical models meant for different markets (e.g. Japan, Europe, US, Canada) sometimes country specific would be labeled differently. A few had series name changes depending on intended market.

The serial number should put that guitar in the mid 1980s.

I was going on the headstock. Couldn't see the serial number but it should give you the year in which it was made.
