Does anyone know the specific differences between the standard TS-500's and the limited editions?

We don't have a lot on the earlier TS series. If yours has a rotary tone switch it seem to pretty much matches the specs available. Maybe a finish option that is not standard?

She's a beauty, but there are more controls than the Star Ship Enterprise on that baby!

I prefer the 6 inline headstock on these. I don't think they had it for long.

6-inline was abandoned when they came out with the transition models (gull wing headstock).

I prefer 6-inline over GyppedEm's 3x3 due to string pinching on the D and G (and sometimes eve B). I can't count how many nuts I had to slot to accommodate that horrible string break angle. My AP2 3x3 is far superior, nearly straight string break angle between nut and tuners. Not a problem with 6-inline at all (provided the string trees don't bind that is).

I'd rock that TS for sure! All 400 watts. :hyper:

Thanks for the info guys :)

I don't have access to the guitar. I was bidding on it at auction. Unfortunately I missed out on it (I won a sweet R80 though :D).

I read somewhere that they have special pickups. I think the finish and the knobs are limited too. Ahh well, I might never see one in real life to figure it out.

Thanks for the reply

I'm afraid to ask what you gave for the R80. Last I checked they were going for WAYYYYY more than they are worth. Good thing I never sold the two I own. I was playing the R60 just today.

Ooh, I love my R60. Its not going ANYWHERE.
I don't know why but I'm not really a big fan of the TS series for some reason. If I'd ever owned one I might be, right?
On the TS guitars, I know they had the 3+3 "transition" headstock in '79(ish) but the serial on the one pictured here is '80. I know they used the 6 inline for what, maybe a year or two before they went back to the 3+3?
I always wondered why? (Maybe thats why I never gave them any thought because the 3+3 doesn't look right to me on that body.)
My RS600 is also '80 and it has a little smaller version of this headstock. I like it better than the bigger TS. (Kinda like the small strat head vs the big strat head.)
The PE, CS and early RS have always been my favorites.
