Hi,
Does anyone know if this 80s "Diamond by Aria" guitar is a decent guitar? I think it has a Kahler trem. Was it made at Matsumoku? I attached a pic from the seller, hopefully it comes through.

Interesting guitar. It looks like the Kahler may be a retrofit. It probably is a pretty decent guitar but the only way to tell is to play it. Unless it is very cheap, I would not buy it without trying it out.

Looks like it also says "Custom" on the headstock. So "Diamond by Aria" and "Custom." It's definitely made in Japan.

I also found an auction where someone has the same guitar listed, and it is a hardtail, so yea the Kahler probably is retrofit. I found another site that said these guitars are from the 1970s. The guy only wants 75.00 for it, so I might go check it out (it's local).

At $75 the bridge may be worth the price. Yea I would check that out. BTW if it is MIJ it is most likely Matt.

I believe these are Mat.
I would think it hard to go wrong for $75.

Well, I got it for 60.00. The frets are pretty worn (would need a refret or at least a good level). The body is in OK shape. But the kahler was really hacked in there badly. I decided to part it out. I'll be putting the two MMK 45 pickups and the kahler trem (Kahler Flyer model) up for auction. I guess I'll sell the neck and body locally for dirt cheap. It's a shame, because it was once a really nice guitar. Had push-pull pots, a nice thin neck profile, nice tuners, etc. somebody just hacked it up.

This is a "Diamond by Aria Custom"--keep an eye out for these things because they are good players!
