Oh, I would think long and hard before using CA here! :eek3:
If done poorly it will be a major eyesore. It isn't that noticeable now, but there's no going back if you attempt a repair and it doesn't go well.

Even using a gel based glue it will still be difficult to keep it from running. Sanding and leveling will not be easy and you could end up with a lumpy looking patch.

And as mentioned already you will need to first colour match the wood which will be tricky given the age. Matsumoku put the colour in the finish, the CA is clear and will only cover and protect what's underneath.

Hey, you're the only one who knows your level of expertise, so if you're comfortable with the process good luck with the repair!

I think that will always be noticeable to some degree.

Hey Trevor, if you happen to be following this thread, what is your assessment of this repair?

All done guys, I couldn't hide the crack in the wood without taking the existing finish and colour away so I left it as it was, hide glue to glue the wood back together then super glue to repair the finish, the nut needs work but all in all I'm quite happy with the outcome.

Once I am happy with the nut I'll set it all up and Im good to go.
