Hi !
I've(a)question(s):
I've an Arai Diamond(Arai Diamond,not Aria,painted logo,not plastic tag with diamond) 1803T sn 0003411.
I always thought that this was the 1962T model.It has the trapezoidal plastic covered pu's.What's the diff.between 1962T and 1803T ?
Further more I've a Aria Diamond bass (plastic logo & diamond) with same style of 1803T pu's(completely trapezoidal metal housed):any idea about model number and year?And perhaps someone has the bridge cover somewhere laying arround...?...
I've also an Aria Diamond(plastic logo with diamond) violin shaped Höfner copy bass,any idea about the model number,is 1420 correct (what's the difference between 1420 and 1420B)?
(b.t.w. I've sended already several times digpic's from my Aria's to the site but never where used or had any reply...(the're important to the site I think especialy since they cover the early Aria/Arai's from witch the're "not yet" pic's on the site).I've also the Aria Pro II Urchin DeLuxe.
thanks !

Hi LB, nice to see you over here too :)

I don't know the answer but hopefully the Aria experts will.

Lord those are some early examples of the Aria/Diamond era.
And the history going back that far is sketchy or very thin on some models.

You probably know more about those 3 guitars you show than most of us here.

BTW: That Paul McCartney bass is extremely cool.
It was my first electric guitar.

Not sure why, but 1212 comes to mind. There is something just not right about the pickguard, pickups, controls. I have seroius doubts that they are original. Not a single early Aria like that had those single coils. All had the large plastic trapezoid faced single coils and IIRC tortoise shell pickguards.

The pickups look very much like the Maxon singles in the electra Avenger series.

If that is referring to the pickups on the guitar in question I'm not able to see that much. They look a lot like generic singles to me from the front.
