Welcome to Frenchy's Guitar shop!

I find this fun... It gives me something pleasant to do at home and changes the pace from Work....

After thinking about it, will have to go buy a black pickguard sheet, the white just does not look as good.

That's what I was striving for too, but the wife doesn't get it!
It isn't looking for work.
It isn't working on the house.
It doesn't generate income (!)
(and my personal favourite) Clutters up the music room!

Instruments as beautiful art? What's that?
:mad2:

Making pickguards is harder then I thought... Here she is with the white one, the Texmex neck srtat pickup is white...

Let me know what you think...

I did the bridge plate white since no black stock right now but by doing the Bridge plate seperatly, can change one or the other.... The previous pickguard was all one piece..

Hey Pierre, nice job. This is a tough one, eh?

The pick guard looks great but the bridge pup looks lost I think. It really does need that ashtray around it to look "right" and connected. The white plastic tends to distract from your nice looking pick guard.

Here's an idea for the the neck pup to stand out a bit: consider a black bobbin topper. It's a cheap cosmetic fix!
Is there any way you can fit a standard tele bridge shell around that pup? I'd even replace the saddles.

But the important thing is...how's she sound?!

Thank's again, great Idea, I actually did not think of it... I do have some...

When I bought the bleu Avenger, to my surprise, the 2 different types of tele bridge were in the case :o no joke... I thought I was on a roll.... :P but ... just like you, the reg tele bridge does not cover the pickup cavity ... Since the previous owner decided to put a Humbucker in there, he slightly enlarged the cavity so the bridge will not be an option...... I guess I can try it again to see if its not too bad...

Cant tell you.. LOL nothing is connected yet! I just finished drop filling some spots on it, will wet sand her with 400, 1200 & 2000, buff her and then redo all the electronics so I am still far from finished.... I will re-verify the tele bridge that I have and will have to make a black one worst case scenario and will be able to tell you if she screams the way I like it or not.... Hows your project going?

Man, talk about a horseshoe up yer arse! You not only find 'em, you get bonus poo too!

Slow and painful, too many interruptions.
And too many physical problems to deal with right now as well...including the 14 year old!

The Avenger's still got a couple of areas where the d@mn paint has really penetrated the wood and it's been slow to come off. My sander also died so it's all been by hand. I was hoping to do only the final work by hand (sigh)

Still trying to find a suitable Pearl White paint too. Nothing available off the shelf so far. Lots of Brilliant or Alpine or "Off" whites around...Pearl? Not so much. :look:

I've been searching hi and low for pictures of any Aria without the ashtray

That's why I asked, I don't think I've ever seen that bridge. . . :-?
You know, it almost looks like a cut down version of the original style.
I think that is what happened here fellas. Looking at the cat. pix they originally did have the full ashtray bridge complete with the cover in most cases!

Maybe you need the cover too Pierre. That might make it look better, but I still feel that you should replace the entire thing, and maybe re-do the pick guard to cover over any remaining exposed cavity. (sorry)
