One of these Dove copies just landed in my lap.
I can't find any information online about it anywhere. There's no serial # inside the guitar.
All the paper inside says is that it's an Aria and the model # listed in the subject and Made in Japan.

Does anyone have any more information about these guitars? Or have any resource that they could direct me to?
I would be most grateful for anything people could point me to or tell me about this guitar.

I can't lay my mouse on a Dove specifically, but I can direct you to this catalogue page which displays dreadnoughts from 1977. It shows the Hummingbird which I assume would be very similar except for finish. I expect the Dove would be from the same era?

From what i've found so far, the Dove was made prior to 1970. As it has no serial no. And Aria didn't put a serial # on guitars until the 70's as far as i understand.
I found one that was made in '74. But there wasn't much info on it sadly. Except it sold for about $650 (http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=ari ... ORM=IDFRIR)

I think i'm going to contact Aria and see if they can be of any help to let me know when it was made, etc. As it's a lovely old guitar.

Good luck contacting Aria. They don't seem to have kept detailed records of their production. They used to have a history section on their web site which they removed, however, you can still see the information on the web archive here:

The info is sparse to say the least, but it does show the Dove appearing first in 1977.
