Hi,
Just wanted to share with you guys my new Vantage. Recently I bought this VA800 locally from the original owner for very little money. It's a 1979, I'm pretty sure (based on the stamp on the underside of the bridge). The finish was sort of "foggy," but it shined up really nicely with ScratchX. There are still some foggy areas around the knobs and pickups and switches, where I couldn't scrub hard enough--will have to keep working on those areas. The neck is perfect, frets not worn at all and very comfortable to play. I played it at a show last weekend, switching off with my also recently acquired VA900. I'm a big Vantage fan now--these guitars are truly amazing.

Here are some pics on my dropbox:

That's lovely! The headstock is especially striking to me. Very nice!

Did you make a pic of the bridge stamp?

Thanks! I'm really happy with it. I'm not completely convinced I like the bridge pickup yet, but I'll give that some time. No, I did not take a pic of the bridge date stamp--I will do that the next time I change the strings.

This guitar is now up on reverb.com...it got too heavy for my old back, and I want a different guitar, and I have a self-imposed rule that I have to sell a guitar in order to buy a new one.

Wish I could help you. A Phantom has been on my wish list since they were new and yours looks really nice.
