Another Ebay purchase - not sure of the model but its a J4 Serial Number, so 1984 . I am thinking she should be stripped back to bare wood (leaving the headstock) - gonna fit a Wilkinson vintage Trem with a steel block (hopefully) and a tonerider Alnico 4 in the Bridge position and a random strat pickup from my parts box in the neck. Do any of you guys have a suggestion for a refinish - and any idea what model it is. It hasnt arrived yet so these are the Ebay pics - only £30 so a cheap fun project I think.

30 pounds! Not too bad

model name = New Avenger 315-T X
T is for trem
X is for "Graphlex package" : Graphite coloured neck and black hardware

J4xxxxx: october 1984
Made in Japan (either Matsumoku or Chushin)
The new Avengers have had (Japanese?) pickups of unknown origin, marked with an "Omega" sign

Good luck for the restore Job,
J.

i finally got mine working a wee while ago - a long, sad story involving much incompetence - , and it's a goodie! Mine was also finished in a most unappealing matte black which every now and again I look at at wonder about re-finishing....

I re finished an AV 310 not long ago and I can tell you they look good in blueburst!

Hmm blueburst I've never sprayed a burst - not sure how that would look with the black pickguard - I was having a think and I did wonder about chrome yellow like an 90s RG
