Hi.

Just want to show you this Vantage Avenger i bought from a friend a couple of weeks ago.
It's my first Vantage but not the first Mats as i had an Aria Pro II Mega Metal in the late 80's.

This is a great guitar and it cost me next to nothing. Seems they are a bit underrated.
The pickups had to go (don't think they where stock anyway) and the DiMarzios i got cost more than the guitar! :D

The brass nut and the bridge has been replaced but the tuners are stock and work perfectly.
It has a few dings and scratches but overall it's in great condition.

Enjoy! :)

Old pups, haven't seen this type on any Avenger?!

And the new DiMarzios. Dominion DP245 bridge and Air Norton DP193 neck.

Nice, I agree that the old pups don't look stock.

Hey, same model as the one in my Avatar! A real beautiful finish on these.
And you're right Magnus, those were definitely not the originals. But those DiMarzios should be a very good match.

The bridge likely was a replacement for the original "barrel saddle" design which was not very stable (or accurate), so I can't fault that too much. I don't know why the brass nut would have been changed out, it gives the guitar a certain tone that you do not get from plastic.
Personally, I think the guitar looks better in brass/gold than chrome, but as long as you are pleased with it that's all that matters. :) .
