Hi - all - this is a follow up to my original NGD post about this guitar. A £30 carcass from Ebay basically, and not really in any condition to restore to factory. It's taken me about 6 months to decide on a colour, or whether to try and strip it back, eventually I went with grey primer - mainly because it was cheap and I've seen a Charvel done like it which I thought was very cool.

the original hardware was long gone but luckily the pick guard was still there - scratched and worn but basically sound.

So I've replaced pretty much everything apart from the carcass - the bridge is a Wilkinson Vintage type with a big steel block. tuners are Vanson disc locking types with roller trees. Pickups are an Irongear Rolling Mill in the bridge and a Tonerider Hot 52 tele neck pickup (just cos I could and I haven't seen another like it - why does no-one use Tele pickups on anything apart from Teles?) - The Rolling Mill is coil tapped on a push pull pot.

I stripped the nasty black finish of the neck and relaquered it in tinted nitro too - feels much better IMHO.
Anyway - after putting it together and setting it up , it's a belter great sounds too theTele andsingle coil in combination is really sweet and teh Humbucker is ascreamer :) Happy. happy. happy.

I think it's pretty cool and I'm glad I managed to rescue it.

The first pic below is the before .....

Al-l-l-l-l righty then!! :rockwoot:
Love the look of it. And love the tele pup in the neck!

I'm a little confused though...the 315 in the catalogue scan shows an S-H configuration...the opposite. Don't get me wrong, I dig it! Just puzzled.

That's sweet as!! Like it.

Barry, I reckon that's an 84/85 "New Avenger" 315 T-X like my 315 I prised from Don's hands except my neck is black and this one is maple with a rosewood board, so once again, maybe the Uncle's "Changes to specifications ... " are in evidence?! :)

Ah yes. Had a small inkling that it might be.
Like this configuration better methinks.

It is a 315 TX I think - 84 by the serial number - it did have a horrible black finished neck and some 'black chrome' tuners - neither of which fitted in with my plan :) - the nasty neck was soon sorted out with my trusty Dremel :) Ihave to agree that the neck single coil is a more useable configuration
