Hey guys, long time no see. I've been preoccupied with things concerning family, finance, health, dogs, bussiness, things breaking down, finance again, bodyparts breaking down, health again and all these things mixed. I needed a kick in the butt to re-energize my enthousiasm for Japanese Vantage guitars, and Johan from Norway kicked me, when he launched his new website: http://www.vantage-guitars.com/index.htm. This board is the most valuable source of information, for those who want to put in the effort needed to get their questions answered. I'm all for a steady website, offering (and taking in) info on the Vantage brand. So I've decided to back him up, and provide him with all the knowledge i've aquired over the years. I Hope you'll do the same!

Hey Barry, I'm growing old, things keep on breaking down around and on me. I've recently had surgery to my left knee, cartledge broke out due to another hernia ... haven't been able to walk for some three months, lost my dog-walking bussines I started in february last year. Hope to start over in a month or two. Now training hard to get the legs back up to Par. Life's a [Foul Language Used], but we'll pull through. Hope my love for these guitars will help me to get back on top of things. A man has got to have a hobby, right?

Music and guitars has been the only real constant in my life. It's been more than a hobby and goes to something deeper.
I'm sure it will have healing power for you.

Hiya, Kees!! Yeah, mate; you're not alone! I've been lucky physically - no major body parts falling to bits - but medically is another story! And of course, getting older is just a major downer, although I will say it beats the alternative. :D

However, my father in NZ is 91 this year, still lives in his own home, still travels the world - he tacks visiting us onto golfing holidays in Cairns!! - and drives all over NZ visiting various relatives. He is something of an inspiration especially since he lost his best friend of 54 years - my mother - to Alzheimers related causes in 2010; maybe getting old needn't be such a PITA?!? :)

Welcome back, Kees! Good to hear from you again. Life is an up and down for most of us. Time flies - music endures.
I had a gig with FALCO's original band last saturday. Tell you what: made me feel like 25!
