I found this for sale locally but I am at a loss as to what model it is. Is it made in Japan? Or is it a Samick?

Any insights? The seller is asking quite a bit in my opinion.

I'm a huge Vantage fan but I've never seen one of these either. It doesn't resemble any known model lines that I'm familiar with. It's a strange mish-mash of elements, can't seem to make up it's mind whether to be an electric or an acoustic. :-?

I'm almost tempted to say that this started out as an acoustic and was modded to be an electric. I have seen a couple of ads recently for acoustic Vantage Avengers! The head stock is the 'squid head' design though. But no electrics.

If the logo is anything to go by, that version of the script does look to be MIJ rather than MIK. Hard to tell from this one pic but I think I can just make out the solitary "V" at the top too. So at least the neck seems to be the real deal.

Come on guys... you're slipping. This is just a VA-50 with some extra holes in the top and an added pickguard glued on to hold the pickups in place.

Price should be much less than a stock VA-50.

I don't know the VA-50 model at all, but it appears that my guess was right, so not slipping away entirely eh?
