Hi all, Read through this thread and not found an answer to my question. So thought I'd see if anyone on here had any idea.
I have what I believe is a Vlp 510 Spirit 79? Serial number is 048505.
All the picture I have seen have the coil tap switch above the volume switch and the pots are oriented differently from true LPs, the one nearer the stoptail being highest.
Mine matches an LP with the bridge pup volume highest and the switch is between the volume and tone pots.
Was this an earlier version or later?

I meant to post this in the Vantage History//Model dating thread..... Don't know how to/if I can move it.

Welcome Jimboh!
I believe that is a VLP-500. Check this link: http://www.matsumoku.org/cm_models/2021 ... e-catalog/
Notice the Wine Red guitar in the pic is setup like yours.
I've wanted one of these since 1980. . .

I took it in part trade for another guitar and I am not a collector so I will most likely sell it but have no idea of its value.

The only way to truly determine it's value is to list it auction style. Top dollar gets it. Pay no attention to what others are asking, many are very proud of their guitars and the asking price reflects this. I do believe some of them want desperately to keep the guitars.

I've seen overpriced guitars listed for literally years with no buyers or lots of rejected offers. Recently I negotiated with a fellow on Reverb who had a PE Anniversary model that was listed for 6 years for $750. He would only come down $30 and that's if I took the case out of the equation so I passed. It's still there after 7 years. Another guy was more than willing to come down and it is now part of my arsenal.

Here's a perfect example. After 7 years you'd think he would get the "too high" message.

And another 5 years old:

If you're wanting to squeeze every penny you can out of it list it high but list it "Or best offer." Within reason of course. It is after all a bolt neck LP. Either that or list it somewhat high but periodically drop the price by 10% or 15% until it sells.

Thanks for the advice. I probably allowed $250 cad for it in the trade so I wont be asking a lot of bucks, Just to get my money back + a little for the effort.
Markets probably not that good here in NS either.

$250 is very reasonable, you could probably ask a little more and get it. I've seen some go for in the $300 range.
