Saw this nice Vantage guitar that looked almost brand new advertised. Seller wrote that both pick ups were upgraded but the guitar also came with both original pups. ( Really like having the original MMK45 with the guitar)

Seller installed a Dimarzio DP103 in the neck position and a Great SUHR DSV in the bridge position. I read up on these and the reviews seem to be really good on both.

Since the price was very decent, threw an offer to the seller.

Soo... we negotiated and met yesterday for this nice guitar.

1982, Japan Made Vantage VP-820

What can I say? Another beautiful guitar Pierre!

Hey, with such a big collection do you find time to actually play all these babies? I know you were gigging as well as working, and trying to keep wifey happy. :D

Thanks Barry!

Have to say, the guitars dont see much use since I am a bass player mostly. I rotate instruments in my living room so that I can enjoy them.

This one will stay for a while since want to really check out the upgraded pups. At first try, could not really see much improvement in sound. She will get a full jam this upcoming weekend.

Finding time is somtime a problem.

Yeah, Quebec seems to have more Vantage instruments than anywhere else. Not sure why though, better distribution deals maybe?

For a long while Ontario also had a lot of MIJ Vantages for sale but they're been harder and harder to find, especially for a good price. Almost everything I see is post Mats these days, and even those are fewer.

Same story, even worse, for Westones, but still quite a few Aria & APII's around, but definitely NOT cheap!

JAM industries which did the Distribution of Vantage is situated in Montreal, better prescence on the market place. The sales rep actually did his sales calls since the boss was there to verify !

They were pretty thick on the ground around NYC, too; that’s where Squid got most of his…
