I spent some more time yesterday night A-B_ing my 2 Avengers... Both from 1981, my red one is an earlier 81 with the truss rod at the bottom of neck. Here is what I found.

Bleu Avenger:

Has a slightly thicker neck
Is somewhat a little liter
The pick ups on both are MMK45's but the bleu one is more crisp and and high pitch

Red Avenger:

Slimmer neck, more confort...
Pick ups are darker, more bass
overall better feel in my opinion...

After doing this, I took out a VP825 to compare the MMK 45's, again, different sound, more mellow and rock&roll.... Tried the Invader which also has 45's... This one screams and very high pitch..... :-?

Different guitars, different sounds.....

So far, my red Avenger is the best sound of them all....

... evidence to the theory that the combination of wood, construction and electronics make the sound. Since the wood is not a constant factor, every guitar is unique! In Matsumoku terms: theyre all very good, but some are better than others, depending on your own personal taste ...

Looks nice Pierre!
You do have a knack for finding them don't you?

I hear ya about the f%^$*)(g RAIN!!! It started up last Saturday, stopped for a little bit yesterday, and started again today! Supposed to rain all weekend and most of next week! Can't get anything done outside at all, including pictures. Friggin' cold too!
AL GORE CAN BITE ME!!!!

Now *ahem* about the guitar...the painted headstock is unusual. I don't think I've seen one painted to match the body before.
And I just love the bridge!

A purple metalic Avenger 325 is posted somewhere with the painted headstock.. It is really nice looking... This one is harder to see the metalic...

Had about 20 minutes of sun yesterday and took a couple of more pics...

Looks in really good condition Pierre. At least the paint on yours isn't running like the St. Lawrence River in in spring time! :D
Even that dumb bridge looks to be not too too bad. How are the strings tracking over the pups and fretboard?

Hi Barry,I looked at the bridge briefly yesterday night (long day...) and I think that the saddles are smaller on this bridge... The strings seem to be right ontop of the poles... Also, the string holes seem almost under the saddle screws... I will compare them tonight....

Was to upset yesterday to do it... I posted some adds to sell off some unused pedals and sold most of them, was letting the buyers try them with my red AV325 on a BaseMate... All the pedals sold right away but I did not notice till yesterday night that one of them stole a knob off my AV325... :x What a Pr!ck....

P.

Merde! Sorry to hear that Pierre. [Foul Language Used] indeed!
You can match them, but the replacements aren't quite as well made as the originals.
