I think the thought about the carved top may be true!

as seen here :)

still waiting for some other pics tho...

but I did get an other reply from the seller,
as stated in the openingpost, he wont ship the bass, and as a student, I don't have a car and the seller lives in Germany, about 400km from where I live,
it's pretty close to Luxembourg, and by coincidence a good friend of mine lives there! (she's from Luxembourg but studies in Ghent, as do I)
so that was my first thought, if he could drop of the bass there, she could take the bass with her the next time she comes to Ghent,
or maybe I'll pay her a visit this summer, but anyhow, he now responded that he will be going to Luxembourg next week so that's settled then :rockwoot:

now I'm still a bit bothered by the fact that I could have gotten the bass for a much lower price,
as said, there was another person bidding on this bass,
and actually he had "won" the auction, but he didn't realise the seller wouldn't ship the bass,
so I got it for my latest bid, which would have been quite a bit lower if the other guy would have read the description...

but I guess that feeling will vanish once I put my hands on this bass :)
