(sorry, pics too big for this site)

Scored this VA X-77 this week. The bridge saddles are not original. A little fret wear and buckle rash. Hey it's a 1983 guitar.

After the usual cleanup and setup it looks OK and plays and sounds fine. Real hard rock/metal monster but pull up the tone pot knobs and you're in Fender territory. Excellent for rhythm guitar and for playing the blues.

It sports these DiMarzio type humbuckers with Allen key pole pieces. Surprise. MMK 45's! Is it me or do i really hear a difference with the screw type pole piece MMK 45's? They sound more like DiMarzio's to me, you know what i mean?

That looks nice. I have MMK45's in four guitars and they sound different in each. They were made for a while and there is the old specifications subject to change thing.

Hehe so far out in the sticks you wouldn't believe it :D Really, on a farm way out in the country. Young dude who played in a band with his brother. They had a first class practice studio, Marshall's, good bass amp, drum set. He wasn't dumb, he knew what it was. He said he had a Korea Vantage before and that guitar was of lesser quality.
