I haven't seen this model in any of the catalogs. Has what appears to be an Avenger headstock. Also sports a bit of a strange serial number. Odd looking pickups as well.

Finish is a pearloid white. Now cream. Very nice.
Interesting bass. Not too sure about that serial number though. Starting with an I. Neckplate says mij so. Is it Mats?

I would say that what you have there is an X Series Bass.
See what you think viewtopic.php?f=13&t=4985

I think Don's right. Nice looking machine!
As for the serial number, it wasn't unusual for Mats to use letters to represent the month of manufacture, that's certainly true in the Westone line. See http://www.westoneguitars.net/ scroll down to "How Old is My Guitar?"
If the same system is applied to the rest of the lines, that should make your build September 1985.

For sure. That's what it is. Don't know how I missed that. Can't quite make it out in the scan but it looks like an X-33 F.
What confused me was the serial number and the V logo on the pickups.
Any idea what the numbers in the pickup cavity mean?

Mats seemed to have written the finish code there. The numbers vary according to colour, burst etc.
