Had no idea that Vantage had such a great following. Eyes are burning from reading all the info. I have a VE-570 bought new in '86 (guitar is an "84 i think) from L&M in Toronto and have been toting it around ever since. Now live in Ohio and everyone that sees or hears my Entertainer wants to know where, what, how they never heard of it. Had many offers and i refuse to sell. Still can't believe how amazingly well these guitars are made. Low action, great sustain. fat, dirty sound. I did cut the shield off the bridge pickup. Otherwise, it's all original. I use Ernie Ball super slinky strings after trying many others i found them to be the best match. I have several guitars but still always go back to my VE. I run it through a RP-50 and a Fender Champ 30. I always wondered what happened to Vantage and now i know. Thank You for this site. My bro-in-law has an old Avenger...i will pass this forum on to him. Keep It Up!!

Should I put the shield back on?? I like the sound better with it off but it looks better all original. Also, what pickups do i have and what is the consensus on them. Personally, i've yet to find an easier guitar to play and had thoughts about changing the pickups but i'm afraid of losing the vintage sound. Checked the serial# and it's an '83. Thanx!....oh yeah, paid $200 cdn. in '86 with no case. I found an old brown hardshell for it years ago.

The sound of a Vantage blows monkeys from the carpet!
Great guitar!
Do you remember how much you paid in 1986?

Oooops! I've overlooked the price in your post, because of paying too much attention to the plush toys on your picture! :P
