Here's my Vantage flying V. Haven't seen any pics of this style anywhere.

I got this brand new in 1982 or so for Christmas. It was my first guitar (actually got a Les Paul copy which wasn't 'cool' enough for me so I swapped it out for the V - what can I say, I was 12 ;))

It's a lousy cellphone pic, but you get the idea. I think the pickup switch is going - little finicky, but aside from that it's in excellent shape. Couple dings but nothing serious. Original Vantage case of course.

I haven't played since taking lessons back in my early teens, and am just picking it up again. Bought myself a sensible Gretsch 5120 to play with and a reissue Fender Champ 600. Too bad, as back in the day I had a Fender Bassman tube amp and a Roland Boss distortion pedal, but those were given away by my parents many years ago after I left town. The guitar sat in their house till this past summer when I hauled it back to Toronto with me.

Heya Tim, welcome here. (Glad I beat your fellow Canadians to it :D ). That's one hack of a nice 'V' you've got there! Got one myself, used to be blue, but a former owner made it 'natural' (and didn't do too bad a job, I must say). Love the neck and playability of the FV. These are not very common, so please, take good care of her. How does she do, compared to your newly acquired guitars?

Hey Tim, welcome!
Nice to have yet another Canuck on board! :D
Nice vee there. Like GD K9 says, look after her...not many around. And I'm told these are the best playing versions of the classic shape.

And hey, that 5120 is none too shabby either! The Guitars 'n Amps store where I work part time is a Gretsch dealer, and we have some beautiful models at the moment, including the Chet Atkins Country Gentleman, and the Brian Setzer Hot Rod.

So where abouts in TO are you?
