i just picked up this one from craigslist. a classic story.... "my girlfriends father has had this in his garage forever....i got not idea about guitars, just want to get rid of it for him...no idea where all the parts are, no idea what the guitar is called, etc, etc, etc."

i did not see any one-pickup models listed in any of the catalogs or model lists
so, of course, i have to put this one up for the experts to help out with identification......... :D

the body is in good shape with no real damage, just dirty, and no electronics or pickguard
it looks to be a bone nut, the maple neck has been damaged from heavy playing but the frets are not too worn

a couple questions for anyone who may know......
what kind of pickup was originally on this model?
what kind of controls? volume only, volume and tone?
can anybody out there make me a tracing of a pickguard so i can make a new one?
(or hahaha, dreaming here... does anyone have an avenger pickguard they need to get rid of?)

I don't recall seeing one of these single pickup models with a pickguard.
The Vantage frea-- uh, enthusiasts will know for sure but I'm willing to bet it had an MMK45 with a V and T.
You have the outline for the guard already. Trace it on the guitar in pencil and transfer to thin paper.
Transfer that to something thicker to test fit.

Similar to the Hollywood Avenger here, it's a 1982 AV-310 or 320...not really sure if there's a difference to note between those two models. MMK45 stock, should have volume & tone with a micro-switch coil tap. I could trace the pick guard some day, it's a plain single ply black plastic job.

Nice project!
