Wow!! Three years ago we had the Mitchells stay with us.... time does indeed fly, eh?! :o

Anyway... there is some news on the 12 string front...

.... does anybody - apart from Barry, who's always keen! - want to know what's going on?

Well, OK, then...

... after Don had a rush of blood to the head, he offered up the VS 696-12 for sale to this kiwi at what I have to admit is a pretty good price!

So. After a minor disturbance in the force with regards to Paypal payments being made to the wrong email address and a certain spectacled idiot running to his wife crying for help, it is now all sorted and I am the oh-so-proud owner of a very, very nice electric 12, and it was the one I plumped for 3 years ago when I was able to A/B test them both.

Who's a very very happy pixie then?!

:hyper:

You lucky bugger, that's a beauty! Really love the sound of it in your demo, and I think the VS line is just great anyway. Something Very Special about them.

Sorry to hear about Don's little bout of insanity. He'll hate himself once he's fully recovered and able to sit up and take nourishment. Worked out well for you though. :D

Don't be fretting too much about young Don's sanity - or lack thereof - ; he's also got something bubbling under...

Yeah, mate.. I'm fair fizzing at the bung!!

Greetings all, my first post on this subject, in my Toyshop I have a Vantage VS695-12 in it's original case. Yesterday I finally got around to chasing up information about it and got a tad confused with the Vantage coding. After a quick email off to Barry yesterday, it seems I have a VS695-12 1982 model serial # 2110107.
What I am wondering now that I know what I have, does anyone know what size stings the guitar came with as this one has what looks like #8 fencing wire for the E6 string. I have never plugged this guitar in and there is a funny story of how it came to live in the toyshop. More on that later, I have cleaned up the years of dust that accumulates when guitars are put away now it is just the strings and I'll plug it in. I'll post a picture or two once I put the new strings on.
Many thanks for Barry's help with what I now know about this guitar.
Ps, I should tell you I live in Southwest QLD. Australia, in a little patch of perfect paradise called Cunnamulla.

Hi Kris, glad to have you here!
Looking forward to seeing your baby. John's too!

Why, it's a 12 string festival! :D

Well well well. What a small world it is Kristen.
It just so happens that I will be traveling through Cunnamulla on Tuesday of this week.
If you happen to need a new set of strings just send me a pm with your contact details and I can bring a set with me and could meet up with you when I get there. I have a meeting in Quilpie on Monday afternoon so will spend the night there and then head to Thargo and Cunnamulla on Tuesday morning. Will then head straight to Charleville for Tuesday night.
Cheers
Don

Wow!! What are the odds of that? Excellent... welcome here!! One of our brethren has a 695-12 and rates it very highly. I wonder what the differences between a 696-12 and a 695-12 are??
