hello,

I'm thinking about buying PAN SG copy.
I tried to look for some info about PAN guitar, and I only found that PAN was related to Aria.

anyone have experience with PAN?
any opinion about quality, value, etc?

by the way, this is the guitar:

Pan branded guitars are often found in the Canadian market, but they tend to be things like re-branded Aria 5102's and the like. I don't know if Pan is Canadian based or not (like Vantage) but they generally have the Pan-figure logo very prominently on the headstock. I don't see anything here indicating Pan. What makes you say it is? The SG model is also suspect.

I am with Barry, I don't see any indications that it is a Pan guitar. That said it could be one that lost its badge. It also has nothing indicating that it was made in Japan. So what is it? To me it is a very loose take on an SG Junior from either the 60's or early 70's. Most likely made in Korea. These are usually inexpensive but can be surprisingly nice players. The pickups are very often microphonic but are fairly easy to wax pot. Depending on the price and how it feels and sounds, it could be a cool and different guitar to have. It also could be a real horror show.

the picture quality isn't that good, but it said 'Made in Japan' on the neckplate.
well it can be anything, I also have old Precision bass with 'Made in Japan' on the neckplate, without any logo or anything, and I still don't know who made that bass until now.

it was the seller who said it's Pan guitar.
he sell lot of older guitar recently, Yamaha SG-xxx, Aria PE, ZZ, Inazuma, etc. some of them had kinda 'strange' body shape such as Yamaha Nippon Gakki, SG-65, and few Hofner bass and guitar.

and, based on what I found, it has similar pickup type with example of Pan guitar on the internet although this one only came with single pickup. the bridge also similar type, different tailpiece though. the tuning machine also similar.

well, that's why I posted in here.
so I could get extra information from you guys :)

thank you

Is it Pan or Pam, cause the whole Pam, Pan thing can be quite confusing.
Seriously now, it looks like its in quite good nick.
I dont think you will ever know 100% who built it, other than as you say it has made in japan on the neckplate.
Looks like a bit of cheapy, but as already said it could be great or it could be sh1te.
Can you take it for a spin before you buy?
Cheers.
