After about 6 months of holding steady I've recently been doing an end run around my "NO MORE GEAR" new years resolution. Trades are OK. I've also been using the "I don't have that type of instrument yet" rationalization. It got me a Kramer acoustic/electric bass a couple months ago.

Then last week this Lyle electric 12 string showed up on kijiji.

Ugly yet beautiful headstock

The bridge trapeze its not original, everything else appears to be. You can see 2 small pads where the trapeze rests on the body. I hope to replace it with an original some day, but there are not a lot of 12 string bridge trapezes out there.

Seller had it in to the local shop for a setup. Looks like lots of shimming but it does play nice.

Triple binding abounds :)

I seems to be a dead-ringer for an Aria 1212 or 1312. Does anyone know what the Lyle model number is ?

I'd date that one early to mid 1970ies. Critical period as structural stability is concerned. The fact that the earlier set-up was succesfull shows a well-build guitar. 12 strings will reveil the building quality of the guitar (sometimes painfully) clear after some years. You're a lucky guy! I love the looks of that one
