Picked this up from a local pawnshop for $100

The build quality and sound are pretty good.

Don't know anything about Marathon and i've spent the past 2 days looking them up to no avail. Does anyone know anything about this company, or if it is even from Japan?
There are no other markings on it anywhere besides the logo on the headstock :(

I should have a catalog of this company (most likely in a box with other things from my past at my parents place). I got the catalog at the Frankfurt Musikmesse in the late 80s. I will have a look the next time I visit my parents, but as far as i remember the catalog is full with Superstrats.

that would be an awesome scan to upload somewhere, i'm sure there's lots of people looking for info on their guitars and basses from that company :O
