Hi, this is my first post but I've done a bit of lurking over the past few days looking for info on a Vantage I picked up in a thrift store. I thought I'd post about some other guitars I have in my collection because there is so little information about them on the internet.

I have four nice through-neck guitars (two lead, two Bass) branded as 'Lincoln'. From looking around these forums it would appear that these are re-badged 'Fernandez' guitars, made in the Kawai or Tokai factories.

I found my first one about ten years ago at a car boot sale (sort of flea market) here in England for £35 (about $50). It plays beautifully, the contoured body is very comfortable although the sound quality isn't amazing (though quite good for that brash Shellac-type tone if you like that sort of thing). A couple of years ago I found a matching bass on eBay being sold by someone a few miles away, then another bass and another six-string on ebay (identical to the other two). They show up rarely on eBay, I search fairly regularly. I'm probably the only person in the world obsessed with this brand, but they're so nice to play and I thought I would get a spare just in case! I gig one of the basses regularly.

I have some photos on Flickr here if anyone is interested in seeing what they look like:

Hope this is of interest to someone.

John.

Hey John (Dogsauce I mean, not you Corsair, you're considered 'furniture' :P ), welcome here!
If you like those Lincoln's, and you want to build yourself a collection, I suggest you keep an eye out for brand names 'The Asama', 'Torchy', 'Bozo' and 'Memphis', too.
Have a look at these 'The Asama's I owned once:

... look familiar?

Beautiful guitars, all!
I'm still looking to find a neck-thru of any branding.

Um, Johnny, "looking" and actually buying are two different things. One is an activity, the other a death wish in my house if the wife catches wind!

There are about 4 or 5 guitars on my hit list at the moment. I should live long enough (and prosper!) to be able to buy 'em all! On a more positive note, I just had a telephone interview for a job today, so anything's possible, even for an old fart like me!

Hee hee hee... I wasn't offering to sell, mate; just being a smart arse, sorry!! Kiwi humour....

Fingers crossed for the job opportunity, bro; go hard!!

And come on then, what's your hit list?? MIne is a VA912 but I am in the same boat, wife-wise, in regards to that as they are beyond expensive for my budget...

Surrounded by funny men...probably wearing a red nose and big floppy shoes too. :evilrazz:

Actually 'hit list guitars' might not be a bad idea for the start of a new thread...stay tuned.
