:-? I keep seeing adds on ebay suggesting Tokai made some Hondo models
during the 70's, the "Revival" series is a good example of not your
average run-of-the-mill Hondo workmanship, but even some guitars
dubbed Revival, look inferior to others. I've seen some with solid
hardwood bodys, american hardware and glued-in necks with exact
body, neck and headstock design, while other models, although smilar..
did not share these high end features, or, duplicate body designs? yet,
they carried the revival subname as well. One difference, on the more
exact copied models is, Revival is in large bold font while Hondo is
much smaller, whereas the lower end model of the same guitar, will
sport a bolt-on neck with the Hondo "current" shape headstock (more
fender like) with Hondo being the more prevailant size?? I'm sure these
were not mfg'ered by the same plant, and probably in a different time
period as well? Any takers??
