hey guys, im pretty new to this forum but im hoping that this is the place that can really help me. I have just dug this old guitar out of my attic and I cant for the life of me, properly identify it with the year and where it was made.
Here is a link with the pictures: http://imgur.com/a/fan4b#LMMjosO
and the number on the back reads: 7041064

PLEASE, i dont care if its total junk or not. I was planing on making it into a wall decoration, but when i took it out of its case after sitting there for almost two decades (that i know of) I noticed that it was shockingly in tune. I received it as a gift as a child and was told that it was broken... can ANYONE tell me what im working with?

"Fullerton" is George Fullerton who was a master guitar designer and worked closely with Leo Fender 'back in the day' both at Fender and later at G&L (he's the 'G').

Aria made these strats under his direction sometime in the early 90's. They are generally regarded as top quality instruments. My advice is to hang on to it! Here's a wee bit more information for you: http://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?t=27403 Lots more info on the interwebs.

is there a way to tell the year specifically? From what I saw online was that the first three digits indicates roughly the year and manufacturer

Sorry, no further knowledge to offer. You know more than I do concerning manufacturing dates.

Is there anyone that knows enough about these guitars or how to research their history that might be able to help?

Hi revisited - welcome here!

What you've got is a Korean made FL 10 H, been available in 3-tone sunburst, red and black. (H is for the humbucker in bridge Position).
The Fullerton series was made in Korea between 1995 and 1999, with the exception of the high end models FL 50 and FL 60 which were made in the USA.
The serial on your guitar makes me think of 1997 for the production year.

The "Fullerton" range:
FL 10: entry level, FL 20: rosewood neck models, FL 21: flamed tiger maple top, FL 30: Pearl dot inlays + Gotoh Tuners..., FL 40: see-through finish+ Wilkinson Tremolo..., FL 50: Perloid pickguard+Don Lace pickups....., FL 60: Seymour Duncan pickups.....)

source: Blue book of electric guitars
Hope this helps
J.
