The Lotus brand has appeared here from time to time.
I think the consensus for most of instruments is that they were mainly MIK. But there is some evidence for Mats made as well. I came across this nice article on a beautiful Lotus "Wing" model which you might find interesting:

I find it interesting that the article states that the Lotus was made in the Moridaira plant. The inlays and bridge are identical to those on my Daion, which I believe was Yamaki made. Was there sharing of components seemingly as unique as those brass ring inlays between these manufacturers?

There was indeed a lot of cross-fertilization going on, but just who was providing what to who... :dunno:
